This Thursday, the Council of Ministers approved a charter on the restoration of teachers’ work experience, which comes into force on September 1.
“We are issuing this interpretative diploma convinced, confident and informed that there is parliamentary support,” said Presidential Minister António Leitão Amaru.
“The teachers were very happy with this fair deal,” he added.
António Leitão Amaro also said that the government has an “open position, that it knows the signs of the Portuguese, openness to dialogue with a transformative political project.”
The measure was discussed between teachers’ representatives and the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MECI), which reached an agreement with seven of the 12 trade union organisations.
