On Tuesday, the PSD/Porto council demanded the resignation of Metro do Porto board president Tiago Braga, considering that “his profound incompetence and managerial incapacity are obvious.”
“For PSD/Porto, the way Metro do Porto treats the city is unacceptable and we demand that the Metro do Porto administration make full and urgent statements about this situation and resign, as its profound incompetence is obvious, as is the incompetence of its leadership,” said a statement from the council, headed by Alberto Machado, a Porto City Councillor without portfolio.
The memorandum of understanding that will allow the Sociedade de Transportes Coletivos do Porto (STCP) to operate the metrobus is expected to be signed from May 2023.
