Frederico Pinheiro, the former deputy of former infrastructure minister João Galamba, was named as an accused on Tuesday and became the target of house searches by the judicial police, a source familiar with the process told Lusa.
The news of the search for Frederico Pinheiro, carried out by the Lisbon Department of Investigation and Criminal Affairs, was reported by TVI/CNN and confirmed by Lusa.
According to TVI/CNN, there are suspicions of illegal access to classified documents by Frederico Pinheiro, adding that the SP’s expertise concluded that the former member of the PS government’s Ministry of Infrastructure made a copy of the plans for the restoration of TAP and the location of the new airport, among other things, before returning the computer to the state through SIS agents.
A source connected to the trial told Lusa that the accused has been named as Frederico Pinheiro.
In a conversation with Lusa, former Deputy Minister João Galamba simply stated: “I am a citizen who respects the law, in particular judicial secrecy.”
In April 2023, Frederico Pinheiro was dismissed from his duties due to “behavior incompatible with the duties and responsibilities” inherent in the performance of his duties.
Frederico Pinheiro has come under scrutiny in the exchange of information published in the media about disagreements within TAP.
