Oeiras Mayor Isaltino Morais, whose work lunches are under scrutiny by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and led to searches by the Judicial Police in June, returned to social media to ironically explain that he has never eaten lobster.
“I’ve never eaten lobster. I’ve had lobster rice, lobster pasta. Now, pure, plain lobster, just with mayonnaise, never got to my tooth,” the mayor said.
The MP is suspicious of the “enormous” quantities of lobster consumed at work lunches in Isaltino, washed down with Pera Manca wine and champagne.
In a video, the mayor showed a “large live lobster” caught in nets in Oeiras harbour. “Matosinhos? Olhão? Nazaré? It’s here. [em Oeiras] “The best lobster in the world,” he said.
