PSD requests all government information on the Alexandra Reis case

PSD announced on Tuesday that it would request all communications, internal and external, from the government on the Alexandra Reis case, as well as a preliminary report from the General Financial Inspectorate on the matter, from the TAP investigation committee.

“The SDS today presented a wide range of documents, which we would divide into three groups: one concerns TAP and its management, main management documents, account statements, minutes, discussions, contracts. with the Alexandra Reis case, and the third with TAP’s relations with third parties, namely with Parpública and with the government,” SDP MP Paulo Rios de Oliveira summed up in statements to journalists.

Specifically, in the case of former Secretary of State Alexandra Reis, who received compensation in the amount of 500 thousand euros for withdrawing from the TAP, there is, according to the deputy, “a set of documents that is of great importance” requested by the PSD and all deputy groups.

“But also very important is intra-governmental and non-governmental communication, that is, communication between two ministries with direct or indirect supervision of the TAP – Infrastructure and Finance – but also all relations that existed not only between members of the government, but also members of departments and departments of the respective ministries with TAP and what happened as a result of these meetings and various messages,” he said.

According to Paulo Ríos de Oliveira, “as has already been demonstrated”, there are “absolutely fundamental messages that have been formulated by very unusual means given the seriousness of what was at stake, namely using WhatsApp or others.”

“The facts are at stake in this case and in this commission of inquiry, not so much because we know them. What is at stake is how it was possible, how someone left it, how someone knew and nobody knows anything, and especially how all these protagonists allowed the result or results – because there are several failures – to get there. here,” he said.

The SDP deputy “needs to understand how the will was formed, what set of information took place between various actors, namely in political guardianship.”

“We fear – and we do not want to allow this – that everything will stop at punishing those who have failed functionally. Those who have failed functionally should be punished and judged in this way. What about those who failed politically? must, after checking the facts, draw conclusions,” he explained.

The statement, which PSD sent within the framework of the parliamentary commission of inquiry to the political oversight of the leadership of TAP, is part of 42 documents divided into requests to TAP, the government and Parpública.
