António Costa has a group of 15 people at his disposal to show “what the government is doing well” by spreading the word on social media, Expresso reports. The “battalion” of employees is developing, according to the newspaper, activities in the field of video, multimedia and social networks, where it distributes government propaganda, which the executive branch denies. He says that there is only “simplification” of information in order to convey it to people. In 2004, Expresso recalls, PS was very critical of Santana Lopez’s intention to create an identical public relations team, accusing, by the way, the then prime minister of wanting to control the media. Nearly a decade later, guided by the motto that an absolute majority would be synonymous with increased media pressure, and in the face of an extinct undersecretary of state, Costa decided to call Joao Cepeda out of the news agency last May.
