This Sunday, the navy sent the patrol ship Setúbal, carrying a boarding platoon of marines, to escort a bulk carrier loaded with coal because it was suspected of carrying drugs on board. There are about 20 people on board the ship.
The ship that found cm, has already docked at the Alcantara Pier in Lisbon, where the coal will be tested for drugs. Searches will only take place around 8:00 am on Monday. At night, the ship will be under the supervision of the authorities. There are 30 members of the Maritime Police and 15 members of the Judicial Police.
The intervention of the Navy took place at the request of the Judicial Police. The warning comes from MAOC – Center for Maritime Analysis and Operations, an international maritime traffic control organization based in Lisbon.
