Manuel Beja, who was rehabilitated this Monday as chairman of the board of directors of TAP, indicates that he was against the departure of Alexandra Reis from the administration of the airline, only continuing the process “in good faith and in accordance with the instructions of the guardianship.”
The now former “Chairman” released a statement on his LinkedIn account in which he begins by noting that he “tried unsuccessfully” to prevent Alexandra Reis from leaving, believing the change in the board of directors “reflects management problems at the company” . .

From the moment this direction was given by the representative of the shareholder in a matter that is his sole responsibility, I understood that my fiduciary responsibility, as a PCA, is to proceed with it, taking into account the business case presented and the legality, supported by legal firm hired for this purpose through the chairman of the executive committee,” he continues.
“In this way, in good faith and in accordance with the instructions of the guardianship authority, I fulfilled my duty of loyalty in the implementation of the decision (of the composition of the board of directors) lawfully adopted by the shareholder,” emphasizes the manager.
“However, it is now clear that there were errors in the legal advice received and carried out in good faith,” he adds.
