Marcelo asks not to forget about the gypsy community in the current crisis

The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, urged this Saturday not to forget the Roma community in the current context of the crisis, warning of their vulnerable position due to lack of representation and discrimination.

“At a time when the country and the world are facing multiple crises with direct economic and social consequences for the lives of our compatriots, we cannot forget those who may be more vulnerable due to lack of representation, discrimination and integration difficulties. . “, – says the message published on the official website of the President of the Republic on the Internet, on the occasion of the International Day of the Roma.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa joined the celebration of the Roma diaspora and recalled the “secular ties that bind it to Portugal”.
