The strike at the checkpoint led to the halt of 61 trains running until 8 am

The strike, affecting CP’s Comboios de Portugal service, caused 61 of 253 trains scheduled to run from 00:00 to 08:00 this Friday to stop, the company said.

According to the KP Luse report, 192 trains ran during this period, of which 24.1% of the planned ones were suppressed.

The carrier indicates that of the 66 scheduled regional trains, 24 did not run, while in the Lisbon city trains, 115 were scheduled and 26 were delayed.

Porto’s urban trains had 52 scheduled for the period, six of which were suppressed, while long-distance trains made 11 of the 12 scheduled runs.

Until April 30, the stop at the IP and CP begins after the eighth hour of work.

The National Union of Drivers of Portuguese Railways (SMAQ) is also on strike throughout April, given the “snub” it accuses the company of.

Workers’ demands include “efficient wage increases”, “traction career evaluation”, and improved working conditions in driver’s cabs and social facilities, as well as safety conditions on lines and in parks to protect automotive material. .

There is still demand for “humanization of duty lists, established meal times and reduction of rest time outside headquarters”, “an effective protocol for psychological support of drivers in case of people getting stuck on the way and accidents” and “recognition and assessment of professional requirements and training of drivers by a new legislative framework” .
