An Argentine appeals court confirmed on Tuesday that eight people are under investigation in the death of former football player Diego Armando Maradona on charges of simple murder with possible intent.
According to judicial sources, the court of the city of San Ysidro unanimously decided to reject the motions to annul the process and change the legal qualification of the lawsuit.
Eight people will sit in the dock: the neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, the psychiatrist Agustin Kosachov, the psychologist Carlos Diaz, Nancy Forlini, the doctor who coordinated the home care of the former footballer, the coordinator of nurses Mariano Perroni, the nurse Ricardo. Omar Almiron, nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid and clinician Pedro Di Spagna.

Diego Armando Maradona, who played 91 matches for Argentina and scored 34 goals, died on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Tigre, Buenos Aires province.
Maradona’s career as a football player from 1976 to 1997 was marked by winning the 1986 World Cup with Argentina, as well as two Italian titles and the UEFA Cup for Napoli, whose emblem he played from 1984 to 1991.
