Lula da Silva started the third day of his official visit to Portugal in Matosinhos

The President of Brazil arrived this Monday around 10:00 am in Matosinhos, Porto region, where he was received by the Prime Minister of Portugal to participate in the Portuguese-Brazilian Business Forum, an initiative marking the start of the third day of the official visit.

The forum, where bilateral documents will be signed, will bring together more than a hundred Portuguese and Brazilian businessmen to expand trade in areas such as energy, mobility, technology, innovation and health.

Foreign Minister João Gomes Cravinho was the first to arrive at the Center for Design and Development of Products and Services (CEiiA) in Matosinhos, joined shortly thereafter by Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa.

Lula da Silva is on the third day of his official visit this Friday, despite it being his fourth day in Portugal considering he didn’t have an agenda on Sunday.

The head of the Brazilian state arrived at the technology center at 09:57, where he was received by António Costa to visit CEiiA before speaking at the forum.

A memorandum between the Portuguese Investment and Foreign Trade Agency (AICEP) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX) is expected to be signed at the forum to strengthen economic and business relations between the two entities.

Increasing and diversifying bilateral trade are among the goals of this memorandum, as well as supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and “start-ups” with high growth potential and technological base.

The forum is also expected to sign a protocol between IAPMEI – Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation and the Portuguese Federation of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

From Matosinhos, the President of Brazil heads to Vila Franca de Xira in the Lisbon area to visit the EMbraer-OGMA at the Alverca Aviation Park.

From there he travels to Sintra, a district of Lisbon, where he will be greeted by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to attend the Camões Chico Buarque de Olanda award ceremony, four years after the Brazilian distinguished artist.

The ceremony, which is scheduled for 4:00 pm at the National Palace of Queluz in the municipality of Sintra, is part of Lula da Silva’s official visit to Portugal, which began on Friday and will last until Tuesday. heads of state of Brazil and Portugal.
