The Decent Work Agenda was endorsed this Thursday by the Council of Ministers, Presidential Minister Mariana Vieira da Silva said. An investment of 25 million euros in the Braga region and new measures regarding parental leave were also approved.
This Ministerial Council, which took place in Braga, also approved investments in the field of justice, namely in the courts, totaling 19 million euros. Another diploma was also approved for the creation of a new central administrative court in the center to be installed in Castelo Branco.
In the area of parental leave, the Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Méndez Godinho, announced the strengthening of the mechanism for the equal distribution of parental leave between father and mother, as well as an increase in initial parental benefits. and an extended parental allowance of up to 40% of the reward when there is a real separation between the two parents.
The adequacy of all parental leave and benefits for parents who adopted children was also approved.
In health care, sick leave through SNS 24 has been approved to the limit twice “to free the SNS for much more important missions,” said Ana Mendez Godinho.
