A 52-year-old man died this Friday as a result of an accident at work in a quarry in the Faiõns district, in the municipality of Chavez, Vila Real district, a Flavienses Firefighters source told Lusa.
The Flavienses’ second commander, Artur Nogueira, explained that the victim was operating a stone crusher when the accident occurred.
According to him, death was ascertained on the spot at 9:30 am by the ambulance and resuscitation team (VMER) INEM.
An incident alert was issued at 7:48 a.m., and Flavian firefighters, GNR and INEM resources, including a team from the Psychological Support and Crisis Intervention Center (CAPIC), were mobilized to support the victim’s colleagues.
The investigation of the accident is entrusted to the GNR.
