Valencia appeals harsh punishment after Vinicius Jr insults

Valencia guarantees it will go to the last resort after it became known that they will punish the club because of the racist attacks on Vinicius Jr. in the game against Real Madrid.

The stand of Mario Kempes, from which the insults came, was banned for five games, and the club’s team was fined 45,000 euros.

“The fight against racism requires real commitment from all parties involved and cannot be used as an excuse to commit serious injustices. Valencia will appeal to the last resort against the sanctions, which it considers completely unfair. Valencia asks for maximum respect and strictness for our organization and fans,” the club wrote on its website.

However, the Royal Spanish Football Federation decided to annul the exclusion of Vinicius Jr., who turned red after hitting Hugo Duro (Valencia) with his hand in the face.

The organization states that the VAR action, which missed part of the move (Duro attempted to choke the player moments before Vinny’s “aggression”), “distorted the basis of the referee’s decision”.

Yesterday at the Santiago Bernabéu, the Brazilian was honored in Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano.
