Fernando Pimenta wins silver in K-1 1000m World Cup in rowing and canoeing

Portuguese canoeist Fernando Pimenta won the K1 silver medal this Saturday in the 1000m 2nd Canoeing World Cup in Poznań, Poland.

In the K1 1000m, in which the podium was exactly the same as in the first World Cup, João Duarte of Portugal finished fifth in the C final in Szeged.

Shortly after winning silver, Pimenta secured his presence in the K-1 500m final by placing third in his semi-final in a time of 1.49.76 minutes, 1.13 seconds behind the winner, Germany’s Moritz Willi Florstedt.

In the K-1 200m Final, Iago Bebiano was seventh, and soon after, along with Gustavo Gonçalves, David Varela and Pedro Casinha, he finished fourth in the K-4 500m B Final, bringing the Portuguese quartet to 13th place. in the overall standings.

On Sunday, Fernando Pimenta will take part in three finals: at 10:22 (Lisbon time) he will take part in the K-1 500m, at 11:33 together with Teresa Portela he will take part in the K-2 500m mixed and at 14:35 will attend the K1 5000m final, which also features Joao Duarte.
