The American set a world record in the shot put at 23.56 meters

American Ryan Krauser broke his world record in the shot put this Saturday, throwing 23.56 meters, an improvement of 19 centimeters, at the Los Angeles Grand Prix meeting.

The 30-year-old double Olympic and world champion set the record in his fourth test, in a competition that started at 23.23 and 23.31, both best marks of the year, surpassing Northeast Asia’s 22.69 as well. American American Joe Kovacs, 29 April.

In Los Angeles, the throw was originally measured at 23.58, until the organization revised the mark and removed two centimeters.

His previous world record, 23.37, was reached on June 18, 2021 during the qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Eugene, USA.
