This Monday, Portugal completed their participation in the World Paracycling Championships in Huntsville in the USA, finishing sixth and seventh in the C1 and C2 long distance events thanks to Bernard Vieira and Telmo Pinau respectively.
In the C1 category, Bernardo Vieira covered 72.6 km in 2:02.18 hours, finishing in sixth place, 56 seconds behind the winner, Spaniard Ricardo Ten Argiles.
The podium was completed by North American Aaron Keith and Brazilian Carlos Alberto Soares.
In C2 over the same distance, Telmo Pinao finished seventh, finishing in 1:52.27, 5.05 minutes ahead of France’s Alexandre Lote, who placed first.
Silver was won by the Belgian Evud Vromant, and the bronze by the Greek Nikolaos Papangelis.
Luis Costa finished sixth this Sunday in the H5 category in 1:58.53, 4.54 minutes behind Dutchman Mich Valise.
Also on Sunday, Flavio Pacheco on the H4 finished in 14th place in 1:55.10, 10.42 minutes ahead of Jonas van de Stene, also from the Netherlands.
