This Tuesday the details of the tenth edition of the Biscay Tournament Ball. The aforementioned championship is the only one that is played by teams in which 24 pelotaris will participate divided into six groups that take their name from as many mountains in Bizkaia. The pelotaris will play in three modalities: in pairs, 4 1/2, and heads up. The composition of the groups is as follows:
Anboto
Laso-Albisu (Parejas), Peña II (4 ½), Alberdi II (Mano a mano).
ganekogorta
Elordi-Zabaleta (Pairs), Dario (4 ½), Egiguren V (Mano a mano).
gorbeia
Larrazabal-Mariezkurrena II (Parejas), Agirre (4 ½), Bakaikoa (Mano a mano).
Kolitza
Ezkurdia-Rezusta (Parejas), P.Etxeberria (4 ½), Zabala (Mano a mano).
oiz
Urrutikoetxea-Imaz (Parejas), Artola (4 ½), Alberdi I (Mano a mano).
Sollube
Altuna II-Martija (Parejas), Salaberria (4 ½), Víctor (Mano a mano).
The tournament will begin with the quarterfinal qualifiers; then they will play the semifinals, and finally the final. The qualifiers will be held on June 16 (Mallabia and Zierbena), June 17 (Abadiño, Matiena), and June 18 (Durango). The final will be on August 22 at the Frontón Bizkaia, coinciding with the Aste Nagusia in Bilbao.
