Social network Twitter will launch new badges next week to verify the accounts of companies and government members who will join the blue symbol already in use, the company’s owner said on Friday.
“Gold for companies, gray for government, blue for people (celebrities or not), and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the flag is activated. Painful, but necessary,” said Elon Musk in a message posted on Twitter.
In response to the user, the owner of Twitter explained that this is a service known as “Verified”, which will be pre-activated on Friday next week.
Musk also said that intentionally impersonating another person will be punished by blocking the account.
On Monday, Elon Musk indefinitely postponed verification of paid accounts due to the spread of fake IDs.
