Maritimo files a complaint against the fans of Estrela da Amador

On Tuesday, Maritimo announced that it had filed a complaint with the Portuguese Football Federation’s Disciplinary Board so that “the behavior of some Estrela da Amadora fans in the maintenance play-offs in Ligue I can be investigated.”

“Following the incidents that took place last Sunday [sábado], at the José Gomes Stadium, the administration of Marítimo SAD decided to submit a report to the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Football Federation. Thus, the behavior of certain members and/or supporters of CF Estrela da Amadora can be investigated and, if applicable, punished at the headquarters with the required serenity and objectivity,” reads a statement published by Madeira on their official website.

The first League I maintenance or promotion play-off match played on Saturday in Reboleira, where the home team won 2-1, was marked by strong resistance from the approximately 900 Rubros green fans who came to Amadora to watch the match, according to them, offended by the supporters of Estrel da Amador.

Maritimo noted that “not only does he not confuse institutions with (or some) people associated with them, but he will never contribute to the intensity of the atmosphere of any game or competition”, but understands “that he cannot put up with unsportsmanlike and socially inappropriate behavior.” conduct and which in no way contribute to the recognition of professional football and sports.”

Marítimo, which will host Estrela da Amadora in the second leg of the play-offs on Saturday at 20:15, calls on its fans to “focus on filling the cauldron and support, energetically and unconditionally, always with a sporting character, good education and the art of hospitality, which are the prerogative of the people of Madeira.”
