An illegal house in Almada, in the Setúbal district, was closed on Tuesday due to a lack of minimum sanitary conditions, and some elderly people were given immediate hospitalization, the PSP said this Wednesday.
A statement from the Setúbal District Public Security Police Command explained that an operation was carried out through the Criminal Investigation Squadron of the Almada Police Department within 12 hours to execute a search warrant for an illegal house in Almada.

He added that some of the elderly required immediate hospitalization at Garcia de Orta Hospital, others were handed over to family members and the rest were sent to welfare shelters.
According to the PSP, significant evidence was also collected for the development of the process and the subsequent criminal liability of its authors.
The action was coordinated with inspectors from the Institute of Social Security and supervised by the Almada Public Health Delegate and a doctor from the National Institute of Forensic Medicine.
He was also supported by other police departments, namely the Police Intervention and Surveillance Squadron, as well as policemen from the Integrated Police Model Neighborhood and the Technical Police Division.
