The Lisbon PSP conducted a special crime prevention operation on Tuesday to confiscate firearms or bladed weapons by executing 16 home search warrants and 22 non-residential search warrants in the Alfredo Bensaude neighborhood, Olivais parish, in Lisbon.
The PSP said in a statement that there are “rapid response teams, a Weapons and Explosives Center and a Special Police Unit.”
The searches were carried out without incident and as a result of the operation, 11 people were detained, namely eight men and three women, and two pistols, a shotgun, as well as hundreds of cartridges and cartridges and more than 20 thousand euros in cash were seized. These are crimes related to illegal possession of firearms, illegal occupation of housing and domestic violence, since one of the detainees had an arrest warrant.
