ERSE – Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos has approved the retention of electricity prices for the regulated market from 1 July, according to a statement released this Thursday.
Thus, he emphasized, “for household consumers who remain on the regulated market (969 thousand consumers, which accounted for 6.7% of total consumption in April) or who, while on the free market, have chosen an equivalent tariff, tariffs for sales up to terminals in normal low voltage (LV) did not undergo any changes” in July compared to this month.
According to ERSE, “compared to the 2022 average price, consumers are seeing a 1.0% increase in the end selling price in 2023,” indicating that “this increase is lower than previously announced for this year by 3.3%. %, due to the reduction of tariffs for the sale to end consumers in April 2023.
According to ERSE, prices for a couple without children (power 3.45 kVA [quilovoltampere]consumption 1900 kWh/year [quilowatts-hora]) at 36.62 euros, and for a couple with two children (power 6.9 kVA, consumption 5000 kWh / year) at 92.43 euros.
Consumers with a social tariff “continue to enjoy a 33.8% discount on sales tariffs to end consumers, established by the order of the member of the Government responsible for the energy sector.”
The regulator also indicated that in the Azores Autonomous Region, BTN customers will see a price reduction of 1.9%, while in Madeira the price will fall by 2.2%.
ERSE, which had already made the proposal public on April 28, stated that “the current exclusive tariff setting aims to adapt the electricity tariff and grid access tariffs to current market conditions”, in particular as a result of the “Common Economic Interest (CIEG) renewal” associated with electricity generation, and whose grid access tariff benefit will be lower than originally envisaged” for this year.
