A man in his 40s was found dead early Sunday afternoon with his head stuck in the bars of the window of the house he lives in, Golaesh, Fafa.
The alarm was raised around 2:00 pm by neighbors who were walking down the street and saw a man standing lifeless, with his head squeezed between bars. Fafe firefighters were called to the scene and pulled out the victim, cutting the bars and freeing his head. Despite this, there was nothing to be done. Eventually the death was announced. The victim, who was outside the home with his head turned inward, still had a broken jaw.
According to relatives, the man was in this state for about an hour.
GNR went to the scene, but the case was referred to PJ Braga. It would be a random situation, it would be normal for a man to put his head through the bars of the window to look inside. In desperation, he broke his jaw while trying to remove his head from the bars.
Local residents say they have not heard any screams or calls for help.
The body was taken by Fafe firefighters to the Medical Bureau of Guimarães, where an autopsy will now be performed.
