At this meeting, the purpose of which is to create an informal working group to submit proposals to the National Sports Council, the FPF introduced several preventive measures, for example that any foreigner who comes to Portugal, to a club or academy, needs a prior opinion of the sports federation of the modality in question.
According to the FPF document, to which Lusa had access and which was given personally to the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Correia, foreigners will be required to indicate a guardian or someone responsible for the conditions of stay in Portugal. , must be a citizen of Portugal or with a visa to stay in the country.
The governing body of Portuguese football also considers it desirable to create points of contact between the federations and the authorities.
