This Monday symbolically marks the start of the new football season in Portugal with the return of three League teams. V. Guimarães, Vizela and Casa Pia are already active. No balls yet, as the first day is usually filled with medical exams and physical evaluations. But fast preseason will dominate
daily life of league clubs. More this week other teams will present themselves in a parade that will last until July 7, the day of the return of FC Porto, the last team to fight.
At home, V. Guimarães started with 26 players. Bamba, leaving for Ad Duhail, was not present, as were Ruben Lameiras and Janvier, who are also expected to leave the club. As for reinforcements, midfielders Telmo Arcanjo (ex-Tondela) and Joao Mendes (ex-Chavez) were present. Goalkeeper Charles (ex-Olympiakos Nicosia) has not yet appeared. The first practice will take place this Tuesday.
Wiesela’s squad also resumed work this Monday, while with medical tests. The Casa Pia team dedicates two days of physical assessment, with the first training session scheduled for Thursday.
New ball introduced
On the day when the first teams opened the workshops, the ball that will be rolled in the League games was also presented. It’s called Orbita and it’s brand new (Puma). Several players from League clubs took part in the commercial.
