The deadline for filing the income tax return for 2022 ends this Friday, and a penalty of 25 euros will be charged for it from this Saturday. Those who meet the conditions for filing an automatic IRS (by accepting pre-filling done by the tax authorities) need not worry as the AT automatically verifies the return. By the 20th, about 5.2 million IRS returns had already been delivered. Of these, according to the government’s balance sheet, about 33% were submitted through the automatic IRS, while 67% were submitted manually.
“Of the submitted applications, about 4.5 million have already been settled, of which more than 2.5 million are tax refunds, for a total amount of about 2,480 million euros have been returned to families,” the Ministry of Finance reports.
Also according to the government, despite complaints about delays, 110,000 more refunds have already been issued than in 2022. At the same time, about 720,000 collection receipts were issued.
