The credit card universe has become the target of a fraudulent campaign

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) warned on Monday that Universo credit card holders are being targeted by a fraudulent campaign to obtain personal access data (“phishing”).

The campaign became more visible in the second half of June, with scammers sending “indiscriminate and random” phone messages — focusing on the Whatsapp app — to many users, according to a PGR memo. hoping that some will keep those credit cards.

“These messages are fraudulent. They do not originate from the person who issued the Universo card, and were not sent at the request or with his knowledge, nor from computer systems belonging to him. Their sole purpose is to encourage access to the “link” they provide in order to get all the data from the victims’ credit cards,” the warning said.
