Portuguese footballer Jota, who has played for Celtic for the past two seasons, will represent Al Ittihad, the reigning Saudi Arabian champions and the club that coaches Nuno Espirito Santo, announced the emblem of Jeddah on social media today.
The 24-year-old winger signed a three-year contract and became Al Ittihad’s third player of the new season, joining France’s Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.
Formed at Benfica, Jota was part of the “embodied” team in the 2019/20 season, but was loaned to Valladolid the following season.
In the 2021/22 season, the Portuguese youth international moved to Celtic, first on loan from Benfica and then on a permanent basis, and it was in Glasgow that he scored the most, helping the club win two championships, a Scottish Cup and two League Cups.
In total, Jota leaves Scotland having made 83 appearances, scoring 28 goals and providing 26 assists in two seasons at Celtic.
