Winger Tiago Gouveia, who was loaned to Estoril Praia last season, has extended his contract with Benfica until 2028, the Portuguese Football League champions announced on Monday.
Trained at Tire and Sporting, Thiago Gouveia, 22, joined Benfica in 2017/18 and made his debut for the first team at the end of the 2021/22 season.
“It is a sense of pride and responsibility to feel such a commitment from a club like Benfica. Now I have to demonstrate my qualities and help Benfica achieve their goals,” said the winger.
Speaking to BTV, Thiago Gouveia assured that he has returned from a loan spell at Canarinos in which he scored five goals in 30 games and that he wants to “use all the experience he has gained to help the club”.
In the youth teams of Portugal, the winger played 31 caps and scored 10 goals for different teams from 15 to 21 years old.
