According to Secretary-General António Guterres’ annual report released Wednesday, the United Nations (UN) identified 2,334 violations of various kinds against 1,482 children in Ukraine last year.
According to the UN, a total of 92 children were used by the Russian (91) and Ukrainian (1) armed forces as human shields (90), as hostages and for domestic tasks (1) and for intelligence gathering (1).
The United Nations also confirmed the death or injury of 1,386 children attributed to the Russian armed forces and associated armed groups (658: 136 killed, 518 maimed), Ukrainian armed forces (255: 80 killed, 175 maimed) and other unidentified perpetrators (473: 261 deaths, 212 injuries), whose attacks were mainly carried out from the air.
