Nearly 94,000 administrative workers received a 7.8% pay increase.

According to a government decree published this Thursday in Diário da República, nearly 94,000 administrative workers will receive a 7.8% average wage increase and a 10% food subsidy upgrade, to six euros, retroactive to April.

The issuance of the regulation requires the establishment of a technical committee, consisting of representatives of the ministries responsible for sectors of activity in which there are no employers’ associations, and representatives of the employees and employers concerned.

This commission decided that “the renewal of salaries should correspond to an overall average increase of 7.8% or, alternatively, an increase of 7.8% for each occupational category”, taking into account inflation and this year’s increase in the national minimum wage. . 760 euros.

The Portuguese Confederation of Commerce and Services (CCP) “raised an objection to the issuance of the regulation”, arguing that “under the fear of starting an inflationary spiral, wage renewal should be limited to 5.1%, as agreed in the Agreement. Medium-term plan for increasing income, wages and competitiveness”, signed in October at the Social Concert.

The regulation applies to several professional categories, including computer analysts and programmers, service managers, accountants, legal support and human resources specialists, treasurers, telephone operators, cashiers, assistants, porters, secretaries and cleaners.
