Pogacar retaliates and leaves the leader Vingegor dismounted.

The Tour de France is in full swing and the battle between Jonas Wingegaard (Jumbo) and Tadej Pogacar (UAE) is closer than ever. It was seen on stage 6 this Thursday that Vingegaard wants to give Pogacar another lunge, taking him out of contention for the race win, but the Slovenian cyclist was superb: he always responded to Vingegaard’s attacks, showed him the wheel several times and let him wear. With 2.8 kilometers to go, he launched a powerful attack and left the Dane on foot. Pogacar won the stage 24 seconds ahead of Wingegaard and 1.22 minutes ahead of Tobias Johannessen (Uno-X).

Portugal’s Rubén Guerreiro (Movistar), who turned 29 this Thursday, finished 4th with a time of 2.06 minutes and scored important points for the mountain jersey. Jai Hindley (Bora) was 6th, at 2.39 minutes, and lost the yellow jersey to Wingegor’s body – he has a 25-foot lead over Pogacar. Rubén Guerreiro is 30th overall, Nelson Oliveira is 71st and Rui Costa is 81st.
