The National Sports Council will assess the requirements for training academies

The National Council for Sports (CND) will evaluate on Monday the demands put forward by a working group set up to protect children and youth in gyms, according to a document Lusa had access to this Friday.

Four weeks after the searches carried out by the Foreigners and Border Guards (SEF) at the football academy in Riba de Ave, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicán, owned by BSports, as part of a human trafficking investigation, this proposal was sent this Friday to the directors for discussion at the meeting of this body, scheduled for Monday.

Among the recommendations of the working group set up by the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Correia, there are, among other things, at least the recommendations proposed by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), for example, any foreigner who comes for Portugal, for a club or academy, requires a preliminary opinion from the sports federation on the module in question.

In addition to this measure, the working group advocates that the admission of minors, even if they already have permission to stay in the country, be reported to the State Ministry (MP), as well as the creation of a temporary sports visa, valid up to three months after determination of a guardian, guarantee and determination of housing, material security and sports insurance, which makes it mandatory to notify the appropriate municipality and the obligation to pay repatriation if federal registration is not made.

With regard to educational institutions referred to as sports training schools, the working group proposes their registration on a digital platform and the creation of a special economic activity code that prohibits the operation of academies without such registration or a founding club. They are also subject to the optional conclusion of the respective federations.

“The minimum necessary and appropriate conditions for the implementation of sports training activities should include compulsory sports insurance, criminal records of partners and heads of commercial companies and sports companies (without a parent club), coaches and employees, a bulletin of relevant coaches, medical and clinical support and organization of pedagogical component,” the document, which will be evaluated by consultants on Monday, is specified.

The working group’s proposal suggests that directors, employees and other sports agents of district, regional and national organizations are subject to registration of interests for the last three years “in terms of direct and indirect participation in the sports business.” , functions of directors”, “prohibit commercial and economic activities, direct or indirect, connected with the sports entity in which he exercises managerial functions”.

With regard to inspections and liability, it is proposed to strengthen the disclosure of the channel of complaints in support of the victims and to punish sports clubs, sports societies and their leaders by removing them from the sector, as well as to deprive convicted persons of the status of public utilities.crimes.
