A four-year-old girl died and five people were injured Tuesday when a car with Portuguese registration was struck in the city of Miahadas, Extremadura, Spain.
The accident involved six people driving a seven-seater car with Portuguese registration, according to the Spanish newspaper Hoy. The fatal victim, a four-year-old girl, was flown by helicopter to the Materno hospital in Badajoz, where she died around 4 p.m., according to the Spanish Civil Guard.
The other five victims who were in the car were taken to the Don Benito hospital in Badajoz. There were two teenagers in the car, a 13-year-old boy in serious condition and a 16-year-old girl with minor injuries.
The other passengers in the car were two women, aged 43 and 65, who were seriously injured, and a 68-year-old man who received minor injuries.
Members of the Don Benito Red Cross, a medical team from the Miahadas Medical Center and Cáceres firefighters were present at the scene, supported by an ambulance and a helicopter.
