UN condemns mass graves of at least 87 dead in Sudan

At least 87 people were buried in two mass graves in Sudan’s Darfur region after they were killed by the Rapid Support Force (RSF) paramilitaries, the United Nations said this Thursday.

“Local residents were forced to dump the bodies in mass graves, denying the dead a decent burial in one of the city’s cemeteries,” the UN said in a statement released from Geneva.

According to the same source, 87 people from the Masalit ethnic group, including seven women and seven children, were buried in two mass graves after they were killed in June by the SRB and militias supporting the paramilitary group fighting the army. since violence erupted in that African nation on April 15.
