The municipalities of Vila de Rei (Castelo Branco area), Ferreira do Zezere, Tomar, Abrantes, Sardoal, Vila Nova da Barquinha, Constancia, Chamusca and Alcanena (Santarém area) are at the highest risk, as well as Vila do Bispo, Aljezur, Lagos. , Monchique, Portimão, Silves, Loulé, San Bras de Alportel and Tavira (Faro district).

Other councils in various areas of the mainland are currently at high fire risk.
This risk, as defined by IPMA, has five levels, from reduced to maximum, and the calculations are based on air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and rainfall over the past 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 4,000 fires have already covered about 10,000 hectares of rural areas.
IPMA predicts generally clear skies and a slight increase in maximum temperature for the continent this Sunday, with occasional strong winds blowing over the west coast and into the highlands.
Minimum temperatures will range from 10 degrees Celsius (in Viseu) to 18 (in Faro), while maximum temperatures will range from 21 (in Viana do Castelo) to 33 (in Faro).
