On Monday, Maritimo filed another precautionary measure with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAD) against the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP), this time over Boavista’s licensing in professional competition.
Maritimo’s request for an injunction against the LPFP was published this Monday by TAD and Boavista’s license for next season is at stake.
This is the second lawsuit Maritimo has brought against the Clubs League after he also filed an injunction with the same TAD last week over the licensing of Estrel da Amador.
In this first case, the islanders claim that the share capital of Estrela da Amador, the formation that defeated the Madeirans in the playoffs for promotion to the I league and promoted them to the second level, does not meet the requirements of the law. sports company regime.
With these actions, the Madeira emblem seeks to prevent the presence of Estrela da Amadora and now Boavista in professional competition, even after the two emblems have been licensed by the LPFP.
Boavista’s first official game is scheduled for Unian de Leiria on 24 July, while Estrela da Amadora will play at home to Portimonense the day before in the first leg of the League Cup.
The “start” of the Maritimu is scheduled for July 22 in Wiesel, counting the same stage of the competition.
The new legal regime for sports companies was approved by the government in January and most recently, in June, by the Assembly of the Republic.
