Alan Varela is expected to attend Porto’s training camp in the Algarve in the coming days. The Dragons and Boca Juniors already have an agreement for the Argentine midfielder.
According to the Argentine press, the Dragons pay €10.5m plus two for goals. In addition, the club from Buenos Aires receives 20% from the pass of the 22-year-old midfielder.
The player must say goodbye to Boca Juniors on Thursday in the Argentine Cup match (16th final) with Barracas Central and only after that go to Portugal to work under Sergio Conceição. Varela arrives at a competitive pace as the Argentine Championship is in its final stages. Varela, one of Xeneize’s top players, has made 31 appearances this season (one goal and one assist).
Varela comes to the place left vacant by Uribe, who left for the Middle East.
In addition to Alan Varela, the possibility of strengthening the Porto midfield of Spaniard Nico Gonzalez (Barcelona) is being discussed. The midfielder may be on loan.
