This Friday, PSP announced the registration of an injured person from clashes between Desportivo de Chavez and Porto fans in the Football League Cup match, which will be sent to the State Ministry.
A statement from the Vila Real Public Security Police (PSP) explains that during the break between Desportivo de Chaves and Porto, referring to the second round of Group A of the League Cup, “inside the stadium, the loving fans of Porto FC participated in physical clashes with each other, which required the intervention of the police to restore public order.
One person was injured in the clashes and was taken to a hospital in Chavez where he received “medical care,” according to PSP.
“After the end of the match and already outside the stadium, another physical confrontation took place, this time between supporters [Desportivo de] Chavis and Porto fans with the need for further police intervention to restore calm and public order,” the same note says.
During this second intervention, “two shots were fired into the air without any physical or material damage.”
Along with the clashes, according to PSP, there were also “five incidents involving the use of pyrotechnic artifacts by FC Porto fans without any damage” during the game, according to PSP.
“According to the facts presented, an appropriate case will be drawn up, which will be sent to the competent authorities, namely the prosecutor’s office,” the report says.
On Thursday, Porto beat Desportivo de Chavez 2-0 in the second round of Group A of the Football League Cup, held at the Engenjeiro Manuel Branco Teixeira stadium in Chavez.
With this defeat, the Transmontano club is eliminated from the next stage of the competition. In turn, the Dragons lead the group with four points and are closer to reaching the quarterfinals.
