Roglic wins the Vuelta a Burgos 2023 after winning the last stage

Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) was proclaimed winner of the Vuelta a Burgos 2023. The Slovenian was the best in the race and won two stage wins of the five disputed in the round of Burgos.

This Saturday, August 19, the fifth and final stage was held, starting in Golmayo and ending in the Lagunas de Neila (160 km). The Euskaltel-Euskadi cyclist Carlos Canal was part of the getaway of the day along with Jetse Bol (Burgos-BH) and Joe Dombrowski (Astana Qazaqstan), but the peloton ended the break with 7 kilometers to go.

The winner was decided on the final climb to Lagunas de Neila and in said ascension Roglic stood out, who won the victory. Adam Yates (UAE Emirates) was second and Alexandr Vlasov (Bora-hansgrohe) 3rdboth in the same time as the winner.

Therefore, Roglic finished the Vuelta a Burgos 2023 at the top of the general classification. Alexandr Vlasov was second and Adam Yates completed the podium after finishing in third place.
