Champions Benfica achieved their first triumph of the 2023/14 Portuguese Football League season this Saturday, beating newly promoted Estrela da Amadora 2-0 at home in the second round.
Having beaten Boavista at home in the debut match, the “embodied” achieved victory thanks to Tangstedt’s goal (79 minutes) and Rafa’s goal (90+3).
Thus, Benfica joins seven other teams that already have three points, three each from leaders Sporting, Boavista and Vitoria de Guimarães, while Estrela da Amadora has yet to score.
