Ilhavo City Council announced on Monday that Praia do Jardim Oudino, which was banned from swimming due to microbiological contamination, has been reopened.
In a statement released this afternoon, the municipality “informs that Praia do Jardim Oudino in Gafaña da Nazaré is reopened for swimming from today.”
“New laboratory results obtained from water samples collected by the Portuguese Environmental Protection Agency show appropriate values, given that the risk to the health of users has returned to acceptable levels,” the text says.
Praia do Jardim Oudino was closed for swimming on Friday after a water quality analysis carried out on August 16 by the Portuguese Environmental Protection Agency found “the presence of a high level of microbiological contamination”.
“The Municipality of Ilhavo, as well as the Portuguese Environmental Protection Agency, independently conduct weekly water analyzes in Praia do Jardim Oudino, and these collections are joined by analyzes carried out by the Public Health Laboratory,” the statement emphasizes.
