The second round of the 1st and 2nd Portuguese football leagues attracted the largest cumulative number of viewers in the last 14 years, the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) announced on Tuesday.
According to a note published on the official website of the LFFP, in 18 matches of the second round of two professional competitions, a total of 176,150 spectators were registered in the stands, which is the highest figure since the 2009/10 season, that is, since the attendance record.
The previous record was set in the 2015/16 season: 163,131 spectators gathered in one day.
146,082 spectators attended the nine matches of the second round of Ligue I, which started with Casa Pia Sporting (1-2) on Friday and ended with Famalicao Moreirense (0-0), on Monday there were 146,082 spectators.
In the Second League, nine matches of the second round were watched live by 30,068 people, which, according to the LPFP, is a record for the second division.
