The youngest son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Jair Renan Bolsonaro, was the subject of a search and seizure operation by Brasília civil police (judiciary) this Thursday. Agents broke into both Jair Renan’s apartment in Brasília and the one where he lives in the city of Balneario Camboriu, on the coast of the state of Santa Catarina, where he works as an adviser to a senator connected to his father.
Jair Renan Bolsonaro is being accused by the police of being one of the mentors and leaders of a criminal organization that has committed crimes of fraud, forgery, tax evasion and mainly money laundering. According to police, Jair Renan and six others who were also victims of Thursday’s operation set up shell companies to hide their illicit enrichment and the origin of goods and property that they could not justify owning with their legitimate income.
These companies, created in the name of other people, also served, according to the civil police of Brasilia, to launder large sums of money, the origin of which has not yet been clarified. The son of Jair Bolsonaro, who was very surprised by the arrival of the police at dawn, had a cell phone, HD and several documents and handwritten papers seized.
Five search and arrest warrants and two arrest warrants were issued during the operation. One of the suspects arrested this Thursday was Maciel Carvalho, one of Jair Renan’s closest friends, who was once a shooting instructor for the former president’s son accused by police of being one of the masterminds of a plot to hide assets. which could not be found. be legally sound.
This is not the first time that Jair Bolsonaro’s youngest son has been targeted by the police.
