The fire, which broke out this Monday in a pine forest in the Sobrados district in the municipality of Sabros, entered the stage of extinguishment at 21:13, a source from the Douro Regional Command said.
According to the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection (ANEPC) online page, 129 operators were on site as of 9:30 p.m., supported by 39 vehicles.
The alarm was declared at 18:19 in the city of Sobrados, municipality of Sabros, district of Vila Real, and according to the Douro Regional Command, “the fire started with” sufficient intensity and opened on two fronts” in an area of mature pine forest and “near from two villages”, namely Roalde and Sobrados.
Therefore, the source added, a large number of means of interference and strengthening of the object were immediately planned.
