Matheus Nunez is seeking his move to Manchester City in a deal in which Sporting is an interested party. According to The Athletic, the midfielder refused to train with Wolverhampton colleagues to put pressure on the club to sell him.
When Sporting sold Matheus Nunez to Wolverhampton last summer for €45m, he set aside a 10% capital gain from the future sale. City have submitted the first official offer of €55m, an amount Wolves considered too low for the value and potential of the Portuguese player. In this scenario, Wolves would already have a profit of €10m as they would have to hand over €1m (the so-called 10%) to Sporting. The Lions will also be eligible for an additional €962,500 associated with the Solidarity Mechanism (1.75% of the total sale value), for a revenue of almost €2 million.
But this Monday, Sky Sports reported that the team, which includes Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva, should raise the offer for the midfielder, who turned 25 on Sunday, to 70 million euros. There, Sporting will receive 2.5 million euros in value added and 1.225 million euros from the solidarity mechanism, for a total of 3.725 million euros.
