A 29-year-old man was arrested last Saturday at 9:15 am on suspicion of assaulting a public security police officer.
PSP agents saw an intruder at the Cais do Sodré metro station in Lisbon force the doors to leave the paid area and move into an unpaid area. When the police approached the suspect to warn him of the situation, “he punched” one of the agents.
The man was immediately handcuffed and detained.
According to the PSP, “because he is a citizen of a foreign nationality, he was contacted by the Aliens and Borders Service, who said that no proceedings would be taken against him.”
The attacking policeman did not require hospitalization. The warning about an administrative offense was also canceled due to the lack of a valid transport law.
