The Lisbon Football Association has suspended all district games scheduled for next weekend in Lisbon.
These are the “barbaric acts of aggression committed against the referees, to whom we express our full solidarity, at the competitions organized by the Associação de Futebol de Lisboa last weekend”, as well as the bad weather that devastated the country and “caused significant damage to the sports infrastructure of our Affiliated Clubs,” the message says.
From 16 to 18 December the competition is suspended. The association also hopes that “this emergency measure will be a period of deep reflection on the reported serious incidents in the sense of their complete eradication, and will also allow the restoration of all necessary conditions for normal sports practice.”
